On behalf of UNCITRAL Regional Centre for Asia and the Pacific, we are honored to invite you to participate in the 2014 UNCITRAL South Asia Seminar. The Seminar will be held in Colombo, Sri Lanka, on 18 and 19 September 2014 in cooperation with ICT Agency of Sri Lanka (ICTA) and other national stakeholders.

Sri Lanka has been particularly active in creating an enabling environment for business based on uniform texts, namely, those prepared by UNCITRAL. The Seminar aims at building on existing capacity in order to share best practices and lessons learned with other States in the region in particular in what concerns the Electronic Communications Convention, the paperless trade agreement being negotiated at UNESCAP and the implementation of the recommendations of the UNCITRAL Legislative Guide on Secured Transactions.

The Seminar will also provide a platform to compile the experience gathered so far in Sri Lanka and other States in the sub-region, for further dissemination especially in developing countries, as well as to discuss that experience with international experts.

The Conference contains invited talks by experts in the mentioned fields including experts from UNCITRAL Secretariat and regional institutions.

For further information regarding the conference please contact us at the email address: uncitral.rcap@uncitral.org.
